The Content and Curriculum Structure of the school is in accordance with the curriculum issued by the Ministry of Education, and incorporating successful curricula from abroad to ensure that the students are able to communicate effectively in English besides speaking Thai language fluently and behaving according to Thai culture.
SECONDARY SCHOOL CURRICULUM
There are 40 lessons per week in Secondary Section. Approximately 60% of lessons taught in English Language. It changes depending on grades. There are 8 subject groups taught at Secondary Section, namely Thai, English, Mathematics, Science, Social-Religion and Culture, Career Education and Technology, Art-Music-Dance, Physical Education and Health Education.
LESSONS TAUGHT IN ENGLISH
The Mathematics, Science and Information Technologies curricula at CSEP are designed and approved by Ministry of Education. Our experienced foreign teachers do their best to achieve standards of Basic Education Curriculum. Our textbooks are also designed according to National Curriculum standards. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Information Technologies Books are prepared and printed for Marmara Schools. These books are only used in Marmara Schools.
English subject curriculum accepts standards of National Curriculum with an International perspective. Students learn English with experienced foreign teachers and their English progress periodically evaluated through Cambridge University ESOL Examinations. Teachers and books are chosen carefully because for a quality English language teaching, good and qualified teachers and quality sources and materials are very important. Therefore, our English curriculum is also unique.
LESSONS TAUGHT IN THAI
CSEP is an English Program, therefore Thai Language and Social Studies lessons are taught in Thai Language.
Curricula and textbooks of lessons mentioned above are approved by Education Ministry of Thailand.
Relations between Mathematics - Supplementary (Entrance) Mathematics and Science – Supplementary Science Subjects:
Students learn Mathematics/Science in English and Supplementary Mathematics/Science in Thai language with 2 teachers Thai and foreign. Although content of both subjects are same, teaching methods and approaches to topics are different.
Subjects taught in English, teacher uses several methods and techniques mainly student center approach. However, subjects taught in Thai language, Thai teacher uses problem solving and group discussion methods mostly and his/her aim is to prepare students to National Examinations and Entrance Examinations.
Finally, the School exists in order to develop the confidence and self-esteem of students by encouraging them to achieve in an extensive range of arenas. Throughout their time at CSEP, students are offered an opportunity to learn a lot; much of it is academic, but lessons for life are there as well.
