PROCESS OF APPLICATION

We would like to give the best education to our students, therefore our admission policy based on looking  answer to how we assist student and our criteria and student’s criteria whether matching or not.

CSEP reserves the right to refuse admission to students whose educational or physical needs cannot be well served by the school, or to those with references indicating that their enrollment may be detrimental to the school.

1.Application Time

· If your child completed Primary Level in a Thai program (regular program) school, we suggest you to apply before the beginning of Summer Intensive Course.

· If your child completed English Program (Bilingual School) or International School (in Thailand or abroad), there is no deadline for applications. You can apply till beginning of an academic year. (School begins in mid- May)


2.Applying for a place in Grade 7 Applicant needs

· To complete Primary School with minimum 2.75 (Grade Point Average of last 3 years needs to be minimum 2.75)

· To pass interview and entrance examination

· To attend Summer English Intensive course. This is a compulsory course for all students’ who graduated from Regular Thai Program or who failed in Cambridge ESOL Examinations (for graduates from English Program or International Schools)

v Students who completed Regular Thai Program Schools may need to attend English Reinforcement Courses during the academic year.

3.Applying for a place in Grade 8 & 9

To complete Primary School with minimum 2.75 grade average. (Grade Point Average of last 3 years needs to be minimum 2.75)

· To complete Grade 7 or grades 7and 8 with minimum 3.00 grade average. (for 8 subjects)

· To pass interview and entrance examination

· To pass English Conversation Test.

· To attend Summer English Intensive course. This is a compulsory course for all students’ who graduated from Regular Thai Program or who failed in Cambridge ESOL Examinations (for graduates from English Program or International Schools)

5.Applying for a place in Grade 11

Applicants from

Regular Thai Program and English Program Schools

· Grade Point Average of Grade 10 must be minimum 3.5

· Grade of English subject must be 4

· To pass interview and entrance examination

· To pass English Conversation Test..

International School

· Grade Point Average of Grade 10 must be minimum 3.5

· To pass interview and entrance examination

· To pass Placement Examination in Thai Language.

6.Documents for Application

  • Application form
  • A copy of each parent’s Thai I.D. card or Passport
  • A copy of Guardian’s Thai I.D. card or Passport
  • A copy of Student’s Thai Residence Registration
  • A copy of Student’s Thai I.D. card or Passport
  • A copy of Previous School Records
  • 4 Pictures – Student ( size 1’’ x 1’’)

 

7. Application Method

  • Please fill in the application form and attach the document as mentioned above.
  • Submit the application to the information for basic skill test appointment.
  • Receive the result, complete registration process and the first part of payment.

8. Interview and Examinations

CSEP follows Math- Science stream and a small size school, therefore applicants are required to pass both interview and entrance examinations.

v INTERVIEW

To understand student’s skill and ability to language, responsible teachers from Student Development and Academic Affairs sections will have 10 to 30 minutes (time may vary based on student and grade) an interview with each student and parent. Conversations will be in mostly Thai language, however in upper grades English may be used to see student’s language level.

v EXAMINATIONS

· Regular Thai Program And English Program Schools

1. General Aptitude Test: Examination is in Thai language, there are 80 questions (20 questions each of Mathematics, Science, Thai and Social subjects) , duration of an exam is 90 minutes.

 

2. English Placement Exam: To understand student’s level in English, students will take 40 -60 questions in Reading, Grammar, Conversation and Use of English. Duration of exam is based 40- 60 minutes.

 

· International School students or Students from other Countries

1. General Aptitude Test: Examination is in English, there are 50 questions (20 questions for Science and 30 questions for Mathematics and IQ), and duration of an exam is 60 minutes.

 

2. Thai Placement Exam: To understand student’s level in Thai, students will take one of 3-Level Thai Placement Examination to determine conversation, and reading skills. Duration and type of examination vary on applied grade and student’s background. (Approximately 30 minutes)

9.English Conversation Test

Conversation Test is given to students who apply Grades 8-12. The aim of the test is to determine student’s English level which needs to be suitable to follow lessons in CSEP. Student’s who could not pass conversation test will not be accepted.

This test is 10 -15 minutes speaking examination. Examiner will ask several questions to understand student can understand and answer clearly. (For more information, please check Cambridge ESOL Examination Section)

10. Summer Intensive English Course

There are 4-four weeks English School after Songkran Holiday during the summer break. The aim of the course is to improve student’s English level and to make them ready for academic year.

All new students from Grades 7 – 10 need to attend Summer school unless students from International schools, abroad (English speaking Countries) or students from English program school who passed Cambridge ESOL Examination given by CSEP.
